Saturdays are go, go, go at the Landmark!
Our acrobatics classes are designed to teach the basics of acrobatic tumbling and build conditioning to develop towards more advanced moves. We start with forward and backwards rolls, and progress through handstand forward rolls, cartwheels and round offs and move onto handsprings and somersaults.
Our youth circus (Movez Maniax) is aimed at young people aged between 8 and 18 years who would like to try a range of circus skills. We practice a range of skills including juggling, unicycle, slackline, clowning, plate spinning, poi, acrobatics and much more.
We are frequently invited to attend and perform at local community events. These have included Colour Me Happy, Nightwalk, Forged Festival and Somersault in 2015.
To be part of the performance troupe you will need to attend the Tuesday class and be able to commit to workshops, performances and events at weekends and in the school holidays. You will work closely alongside the Movez Maniax youth circus.

Chani Turner teaches a range of styles but specialises in circus and contemporary. Always keen to learn and continue her professional development she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her classes.
From being passed around a rehearsal room as a baby and dancing lessons as a tot Chani’s first professional engagement was at the age of 7 with Barnum at the Landmark Theatre. She went on to perform in 15 North Devon Theatres’ pantomimes as a juvenile, later a company dancer/aerialist and most recently as The Giant in Jack and the Beanstalk.
After working as a cabaret performer and children’s entertainer in a local holiday park Chani left Devon and trained in Musical Theatre at Performers College (Essex) before undertaking her Dance Theatre degree (ballet, contemporary and choreography) at Trinity Laban (London). While studying Chani furthered her interest in aerial and circus which began with workshops with the Generating Circus Company. On completing her degree she trained at Circomedia (Aerial and Acrobatics) and Zippos Academy of Circus Arts (aerial, tumbling, juggling, hula hoop and contortion) Over the last 3 years Chani has toured with Swamp Circus Trust and Charles Chipperfield’s Circus performing her aerial silk, aerial hoop, Ring Mistress and Ragdoll contortion acts along with pirate shows, magic and illusion. In her spare time Chani stilt walks and performs fire at corporate and community events.
Alongside her teaching at North Devon Theatre and supporting local charities she is now continuing her training with a PGCE in secondary dance.
