Arts Council England funding success for North Devon Theatres

Press Release – For Immediate Release

1 July 2014

Arts Council England announcement is great news for North Devon Theatres’ Trust

North Devon Theatres’ Trust is delighted to announce a successful bid to Arts Council England (ACE) for National Portfolio funding, securing their financial support over the next three years.

Director of the Theatres, Alan Dodd said: “We’re so delighted to be able to announce that we have been successful in our bid to Arts Council England; their support is vital to the running of both the Landmark Theatre and the Queen’s Theatre and we are very grateful for their continued investment. We are immensely proud of the work we do in North Devon and the broad programme of art forms that we present each year.  ACE has recognised that we work closely with many national and local organisations to deliver a programme of significant quality and that we demonstrate examples of good practice especially in our work with children and young people.

Given that the funding climate is tougher than ever and that ACE’s funds have been reduced, this is a ringing endorsement of our strategic multi-arts approach and the hard work of everyone connected with the charity.  Although it clearly won’t solve all of the financial challenges facing us, together with on-going support from North Devon Council, it can undoubtedly be used as a platform for seeking new funding opportunities and most importantly it will enable us to continue delivering great art for everyone in North Devon”.
