Santa's Little Helpers Needed

The Friends of North Devon Theatres are looking for helpers for their Golden Seat Draws!

As you may know, at various performances throughout the year at both the Queen’s and Landmark Theatres, the Friends of North Devon Theatres raise much needed funds for local arts performances and projects by running Golden Seat Draws.  For £1, audiences can enter their seat number and winning seat is drawn at random on the night, winning half the fund collected.

Sue Rudall, Chair of the Friends said “The Golden Seat Draws have proven popular with North Devon Theatres’ audiences, who can not only feel they are supporting all the good things the Theatres do, but also have the chance to win a cash prize on the night.  Recent prizes have been from around £60 to £90, so it is well worth taking part.

The Friends are a small group of dedicated people who run lots of events throughout the year.  They are asking for assistants to help to sell Golden Seat tickets during nine dates over our Pantomime period at the Queen’s Theatre this year.  There is no ongoing commitment – just a willingness to help raise money for North Devon Theatres’ Trust and availability on the dates below.  Full training will be given by the Friends on the day to anyone kind enough to help.

Sue said “The Friends support many projects at the Theatres; most recently we have assisted with refurbishing the seats in the Stalls at the Queen’s and also maintaining the beautiful sprung dance floor in the Pavilion at the Landmark.  We know the value of the Theatres to local people and want to do our bit to ensure the Theatres are as welcoming and accessible as possible for everyone in North Devon.”

Jo Griffiths, Development Manager at North Devon Theatres said “The Friends do so much to help us all year and their contributions are essential to the ongoing success of the Theatres.  Anyone who is looking to get out of the house for a while, meet some lovely people and raise money for a local charity would do well to give the Friends a call!  Not only will you have fun, but your help in this important fundraising effort would be really appreciated by us all!”
