North Devon Theatres is dedicated to providing support to young people aged 11-25 to access and enjoy the arts, to develop creative and leadership skills and to have an active voice within the organisation with regards to youth issues and participation. One of the ways we achieve these things is through our Young Producers scheme.
Now nearing the end of its second year North Devon Theatres’ Young Producers programme is looking to expand and will now be divided into the Bronze Producers, Silver Producers and Gold Producers offering nationally recognised Arts Award qualifications.
Completing an Arts Award develops creative and communication skills, helps young people with their ability to lead projects and is useful when looking for further education and job opportunities – in the arts or other fields.
Sophie: “I’ve enjoyed meeting new people, and laughing with them a lot and also just being part of a team!”
Claire: “It’s something else to add to my CV and it’s built my confidence while working in a team and meeting new people.”
Young Producers sessions will be based at the Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe. Silver Producers will meet on Tuesday evenings between 5-7pm and Bronze Producers sessions will be on Friday evenings between 5-6pm. Gold Producers will run independently and on completion of the Silver award. Applications for the next intake are now open and the programme will recommence in early October.
If you or someone you know are interested in achieving an Arts Award then please contact Phoebe Mallows or Kerrie Anson on 01271 869222 or email or
Young Producers is supported and funded by the Arts Council, Devon Educational Trust, Barnstaple Bridge Trust and Ernest Cook Trust.
