Zamba - Friday 1st May 21:00 www.myspace.com/zambaband
Kicking off the Annual Landmark Beer Festival is the fantastically upbeat Zamba. Their carnival reggae style is guaranteed to get you up dancing...or maybe tapping your toes if you don’t fancy spilling your pint!
Hayley Daviss - Saturday 2nd May 14:00 www.myspace.com/hayleydaviss
Hayley Daviss is a Swindon based singer/songwriter with a voice so beautiful that it is no wonder that she is getting some well deserved attention from the likes of Rolling Stone magazine following her cover of the Kings Of Leons "Sex on Fire". Hailing from the darkest depths of the Westcountry, her music is a fine blend of self proclaimed acoustic-y goodness, funky rhythms and soulful melodies
Soulsmith - Saturday 2nd May 17:00 www.myspace.com/soulsmithuk
Soulsmith are a three piece rock group that has been gigging all over Southern England for the last year or so. Quickly developing from an acoustic project into a full on funk-rock band, the band seem to be shaping quite a diverse sound ranging from funk, rock and metal, through to soul, blues and grunge.
PickPockets & SkyRockets - Saturday 2nd May 20:30 www.myspace.com/pickpocketsandskyrockets
Formed at the end of 2008 by well known local songsmiths Pete Buffery and Sam Ratcliffe PP&SR are quickly gaining popularity due to their unique brand of childlike-electro-pop. Not many bands can boast of having a xylophone and a laptop in their frontline!
Two Spot Gobi - Saturday 2nd May 21:45 www.twospot.co.uk www.myspace.com/twospotgobi
Formed in 2005, Two Spot Gobi are creating a new, ultra musical, commercial sound that is winning them popularity wherever they play. Their expert musicianship and energetic live performances have led them to support major acts such as US platinum selling artist Jason Mraz, who they are currently supporting on the European leg of his tour, and the UK's Newton Faulkner in sellout shows around the UK and the United States...
The Landmark Bands Day in Association with SoundPad - Sunday 3rd May 14:00 - 19:00
www.myspace.com/landmarkbeerfestival
A chance to shine is once again being offered to local up and coming bands who wish to display their musical talents to the eager beer festival audience. With SoundPad providing the amps and drum kits and North Devon Theatres providing the PA and technicians this is a fantastic opportunity for new bands to play a 40 minute set to a welcoming crowd and is also a great showcase opportunity as many of the bands who play on the day are often asked back to play a fully paid gig at the following beer festival and other event organisers regularly scout for new talent. There are only five spaces up for grabs so please contact Charmain Lovett via www.myspace.com/landmarkbeerfestival if you are interested.
Lazy - Sunday 3rd May 21:00 www.myspace.com/lazytunes
Having impressed the SunWest audience at the Landmark and SoundPad Bands day Lazy are back to entertain the crowds once more. Lazy, playing original funk, dub, rock and blues music, stamped with, what they call, a distinctive Lazy... sound.
Fiddlebix - Monday 4th May 14:00 www.myspace.com/fiddlebix
Appledore based folk duo Fiddlebix are coming to the Landmark Beer Fest armed with an array of instruments that help them create music that has a world folk/acoustic edge but also blends rock, blues, jazz and flamenco sounds into their eclectic set.
Cole Stacey - Monday 4th May 16:30 www.myspace.com/colestaceymusicness www.colestacey.net
Described as "Crowded House meets Paul Simon" Cole Stacey owns a voice that is far more mature than his 22 years. Having recently worked with Phil Beer of Show of Hands fame on his new album, and being championed by BBC Radio, Cole is definitely one worth looking out for.
The Dambuskers- Monday 4th May 19:00 www.myspace.com/thedambuskers
Having been described as "seriously good musicians, playing great music with spirit, passion, and a mischievous sense of fun" there is no better way to finish a festival than with the high energy folk-rock sounds of The Dambuskers.
