The ultimate ‘festival of festivals’ – over for another year…..
Wow! Almost from start to finish this year’s North Devon Festival enjoyed wall to wall sunshine and with it came an amazingly positive response to each and every event. From schools’ sports tournaments to Civil War battle re-enactments and from internationally acclaimed acts to some very talented local youngsters, NDF 2010 exceeded expectations and once again offered audiences an amazing array of entertainment across the entire region.
Here’s just a selection of what we at North Devon Festival have enjoyed….
Reggae legends Toots & the Maytals, a knitted underwater world, Barnstaple Fringe (how good was Theatrefest this year?) Brian Blessed, a Bollywood film, amazing art, Babyhead, The Magic Numbers, a very Victorian invasion, wonderful wildflowers, super sandcastles, English fairs, sports events, an awe inspiring marathon course (we saw it –we didn’t conquer it, but hey, some people did!) Paul Merton, Chris Packham, some cracking comedians, a thought-provoking debate or two, world-class jazz acts and an incredible production of Alan Bennett’s The History Boys, presented by Theatre Royal Bath.
What were your favourite bits? Drop us a line and let us know – we’d love to hear from you!
…And if you didn’t make any of it – where the heck were you? Without wanting to sound smug, take a look through the 2010 Festival listings and see just what you missed!
We hope to see you next year…
