Charitable Trust Funding

North Devon is certainly the destination in June for a diverse mix of quality arts entertainment rooted deeply in the community and encompassing a broad range of music, dance, art, lifestyle, sport, theatre, comedy, fairs and nature events.

Fundamental to our philosophy is ensuring that as many people, young and old and from all backgrounds, are given the chance to participate, get involved and to experience (both performing and observing) the wide variety of arts offered by the Festival.

In 2010, 61% of Festival activities were free of charge and many local children and young people were able to access ticketed events at no cost to themselves. We believe this is essential in order to develop the next generation of performers and audiences.

The Festival is an integral part of our highly regarded and innovative performing arts education programme which includes, as a matter of course, many children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the education programme they are able to develop their appreciation for the arts in a way that would not normally be open to them.

Maintaining this level of commitment to access for the many, not just for the few, and providing opportunities to our young people would not be possible without the tremendous support from charitable trusts and foundations.
