act with us ...

We believe that theatre isn't just something you sit and watch...

Our programme of drama classes and our youth theatre help children, young people and adults, gain confidence and self awareness through effective acting & drama coaching.

We offer community based drama training to enrich, nurture and develop people’s confidence, talent and self esteem.

Classes are great fun and offer the opportunity to perform on the professional stage in our own productions which have included Peter Pan (Summer 2015), The Lion, The Witch and The Wardobe (2014) and The Wiz (2013).

I became involved with Make The Move because it is through an arts organisation such as this that I was introduced to performing. It taught me about teamwork, public speaking and being creative without boundaries. I hope I can inspire others.

Mark (Markoose) Williams

I have lived in Ilfracombe all my life and work for a local company that make Starcloths (drapes with lights in). I have always had an interest in working in the theatre and my teenage years were spent with working with local amateur companies doing backstage work. I got involved with Make the Move when my son Jack started attending classes, knowing I had previous experience Carol asked if I would help out backstage for their Sound and Vision show in 2009 generally lifting, shifting and keeping the stage safe. I found I enjoyed working with the young people so much I offered my services for their next production and the rest as they say is history. Through the Drama Club and Movez Maniax I’ve been involved in numerous in house productions and community events, I’ve even had a cameo role as Giant Rumblebuffin.

As well as all the technical and stage management support I have also taken a Level 2 NVQ in Youth support work to help me with my voluntary work with young people and their pastoral care. I feel extremely privileged to be able to work with such a talented bunch of young people.
